Evidence-Based-ish Resources and Gender Medicine™: Now with 70% More Moral Panic

Here you’ll find a collection of selectively chosen media articles, decontextualised research summaries, and “independent” opinion pieces (usually written by the same three people). All designed to promote doubt, delay, and dysphoria. While there has been a global shift toward evidence-based, affirming healthcare for trans youth, we prefer to dwell in the margins — where outdated theories thrive, anecdotal panic reigns, and every PDF is a potential “gotcha.”

We know it can be hard to find balance in legacy media — especially when actual experts keep publishing things we disagree with. That’s why we’ve done the work of filtering out the affirming science, leaving only the stuff that fits our pre-approved narrative. Below you’ll find our carefully curated canon, organised by theme — from Detransition Panic to The Great Turban Conspiracy. Read on if you’d like to experience what it’s like to watch the same three studies cited 47 different ways.

Evidence Reviews and Policy Changes

A round-up of international health bodies slowly backtracking under political pressure, conservative backlash, and manufactured moral panic — all of which we interpret as “the tide is turning.” If a country restricts care, we cite it. If a country expands access, we ignore it.

Other International Reviews

Here’s where we pull Finland, Sweden, and Germany out of context and pretend they reflect global consensus — instead of politically motivated overcorrections. Bonus points for anything that says “more research needed,” which we treat as “stop everything immediately.”

We say we care about suicide — but only when we can use it to discredit trans-affirming care. These cherry-picked studies help us imply that suicide rates are either exaggerated or not preventable through support. (Don’t try this with cis kids.)
